This crazy holiday actually has nothing to do with pigs and everything to do with math. In the 60s, two math students at Princeton were given the assignment to analyze the properties of the number 17. Like most math problems, it drove them crazy and thus they invented a mythical yellow pig with 17 eyes, 17 toes and 17 teeth. Today all math geeks get together on 7/17 to celebrate the number 17 through the use of Yellow pigs whether it be eating yellow pig cake or singing yellow pig carols. Seriously.
